Rich brown color, very small droplets of oil appear on surface, acidity is diminished, body is most potent, ideal roast for a well-balanced espresso.
Dark Roasted Coffee
Deep brown to black color, bean is oily, nuances of the coffee start to diminish, flavor decreases, body dominates.
Very Dark Roasted Coffee
Black color, surface is covered with oil, all nuances of the coffee are gone, aroma is minor, body is thin, roast is typical of an American Espresso.
